    Flat panel solar water heater have two parts:

    flat-plate solar collector and water tank, Flat Solar Collector Design.The simple, single panel design shown here uses a standard pressed steel central heating radiator as the solar collector. These are relatively cheap and readily available either as new or second-hand (if using a second-hand radiator panel, remove any decorative paint from the front surface and re-prime as necessary). The thermal efficiency of a collector using a central heating radiator should be comparable with many commercially available designs. However the relatively large water content will make it slow to respond especially at low levels of solar radiation. The panel should be a single panel without fins and with tapped connecting holes at all four corners so that the necessary 'diagonal' flow of water is easily achieved. Other types with only two connections can be used providing that the connections are at diagonally opposite corners. The panel needs to be painted with matt black oil paint to give a high absorbent surface. All pipework within the case should be insulated to prevent collected heat escaping back into the case.

    Flat plate solar collector:
    1. Bottom plate: Consists of a frame composed of either aluminum thickness or Galvanized steel at 0.4 mm.
    2. External Frame: Protects the collector and reforms all collector parts made from hard aluminum with
    a thickness of 1.2 mm and height of 100 mm; This is very essential to resist surface corrosion.
    3. Insulations: Composed of rock wool, insulation prevents heat loss from the collector to exterior with a
    total thickness of 100mm inside of the frame of depth 50mm.
    4. Frame Insulation: Composed of rock wool, frame insulation prevents the loss of heat from the
    collector frame; Has a thickness of 20 mm.
    5. Panel: Internal surface which converts sun light to heat throughout the water pipes. These pipes are
    coated with black paint and special chemicals for high efficiency heat absorption. The panel is
    composed of copper or aluminum and coated throughout for efficient absorption.
    6. Rubber Sealing Gasket: Cuts the connection between the panel collector pipes and the frame to
    prevent the loss of heat transferred from the collector pipes to the frame, prevents water leakages into
    the internal side of the collector, and prevents the heat losses that occur due to the air gap.
    7. Glass Rubber Seal: Rubber seal placed all around the glass, enabling it to stay firm between the
    frame and the glass lath. It prevents heat losses and leakage of water into the collector. They are used
    as single piece glass rubber seals without any point.
    8. Collector Pipes: Made of copper or aluminum, enables the transfer of heat created on the panel. The
    outlet diameter of the heat transfer depends on required specification.
    9. Top Cover: Glass surface to conduct solar light into internal parts of the collector. It serves the
    function to prevent the possible heat losses and leakages.

    How it works:

    1) Connect with pressure water tank and workstation. Water is circulated through the header via intermittent pump cycling. Each time the water circulates through the header, the temperatures is raised by 5-10℃. Throughout the day, the water in the tank is gradually heated.
